This department started working with a team of experts in 2013. Main duties of this department is to conduct all mineral exploration operations including remote sensing, geochemistry and geophysics, and the extraction and processing of all minerals. So far we have acquired the exploration rights for 3 mineral areas in Khorasan Razavi province by conducting exploratory studies on copper and barite deposits.

Nowadays with the advancement of technology, Discovery of potential mining sites using cold fashioned ways is no longer common. Explorations are done using data acquired from geological maps, aerial geophysical maps, satellite imagery, geochemical information, etc. and integration of this data with a scientific method, in the GIS system. Which is a very fast and efficient method in finding potential sites.

Preparation of geological maps

Geological maps are available on a large scale using aerial photos, satellite imagery, geological surveys of the geological team, and using computer-aided methods and software. In this regard, based on the scale of the map and its application, the scrolling is done and the samples are taken from the outcrops and rock units of the sample and all observations are recorded for application in the map.

Remote sensing surveys today are known to be the best methods for discovering deposits due to the wide and integrated view and the wavelength range. Considering that the identification of ore-bearing zones has been less studied using remote sensing data. The Atlas Mining Department specializes in the design of alteration holes and alteration areas by using satellite imagery processing techniques such as false color combination (FCC), band ratio (BR) and spatial angle mapping (SAM) method on ETM + and ASTER sensor data

Our collection with well-drilled team to determine the surface and depth of the mineral deposit can identify best places for drilling wells, trenches and boreholes using exploratory data.
